Police arrest robbers for breaking houses with charms in Katsina

Katsina State Police have apprehended three suspected robbers who used charms to break into houses in Daura Local Government Area.

SP Gambo Isah, the Public Relations Officer, announced their arrest in a statement on Tuesday.

The trio were apprehended after a tip last week, according to the spokesman.

Abdullahi Sa’idu, 50, of Jigawa’s Hadejia; Umar Abubakar Faruk, 23, of Kano’s Badawa Quarters; and Zakariyya Hussaini, 25, of Jigawa’s Yar Leman.

Their luck expired after they broke into the homes of Idris Ahmed, Mujihabi Yusif, Sa’a Abdu, Ibrahim Sani and Umar Sani, all of the same address.

“The suspects confessed to using charms that would lure their victims to sleep until they would have finished committing their nefarious act”, Isah noted.

They also confessed to have gotten their charms from a ritualist in Niger Republic.

Exhibits recovered include fabricated keys, house-breaking implements, a machete, five mobile phones, iron pinches and charms.

The suspects would be charged to court after completion of the further investigations.
