The nomination of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria has been confirmed by the Senate (CJN).
The progression came as a result of his Wednesday Senate chambers Committee of the Whole screening.
Justice Ariwoola answered questions from Senators during the screening.

In other news, the National Industrial Court of Nigeria has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to call off its ongoing nationwide strike.
Recall that ASUU has been on strike since February 14 to press home the demands for improved funding for universities, a review of salaries for lecturers, among other issues.
Several meetings between ASUU and the Federal Government had ended in a deadlock.
