Beer parlour owner killed as cultists invade Kwara ‘cool spot’

Suspected cultists have killed a beer parlour owner identified as Mr Tajudeen in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

The incident was said to have occurred on Tuesday at Sawmill area around 10pm.

According to Daily Trust, sources said the cultists invaded the victim’s cool spot and dragged him out before shooting him at close range.

The deceased’s body was said to have been dumped at Gari Alimi.

A resident of the area, Mr Abdulmalik, said, “Tajudeen operates a cool spot opposite the IGS gate before Gari Alimi and also engages in clearing of cars from the Benin Republic.

“Some of his friends were having a birthday celebration at his cool spot when they came. They first smashed a bottle on his head before he was shot at close range.”

The state police Pub lic Relations Offiver, Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the incident, said, “Yes, it was a cult-related killing and investigation has commenced on the issue,” Okasanmi added.
