Two killed during cult clash in Cross River community

Cross River State Police command has confirmed the death of two persons during a cult clash in the Obudu community area of the state.

It was gathered that the Obudu cult clash occurred between Monday and Tuesday.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the incident said two persons were killed when rival cultists clashed.

She said, “There was cult activity in Obudu and two persons were killed. Some suffered machete cuts. We are investigating the incident.”

Initial reports had it that six persons were killed following disagreement over a motorcycle allegedly stolen by a member of a rival cult group.

It was alleged that cult activities are rampant in the area.
