Eight Nigerian women arrested in Libya for alleged prostitution

Eight Nigerian women have been arrested for alleged involvement in prostitution after police raided a house in Kufra district, Libya.

According to Migrant Rescue Watch, police raided a house in Kufra district and arrested the women on charges of prostitution.

A Nigerian man said to be a pimp was also arrested during the raid.

“Police following an investigation and Public Prosecutor’s warrant raided a house in Kufra and arrested nine migrants including 8 females of Nigerian nationality on charges of prostitution. All transferred to the Security Directorate for legal action.” the group said on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that security forces have arrested nine Nigerian nationals after raiding a brothel allegedly run by a gang of African migrants in a private apartment in Benghazi, Libya.

Migrant Rescue Watch, which disclosed this in a tweet on Monday, September 26, 2022, said the raid was carried out on Saturday.
