“It’s a complicated time” – Megan Markle breaks silence on Queen Elizabeth II’s demise

Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle has finally broken her silence on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In an interview with Variety that was published on Wednesday, the “Suits” alum said, she feels lucky to have known the Queen.

“I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband, [Prince Harry], to support him, especially during that time,” she continued. “What’s so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts.”

The former actress called Elizabeth “the most shining example of … female leadership,” adding, “I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with her and get to know her.”

She noted that while “it’s been a complicated time,” Harry has remained “ever the optimist” and says, “Now she’s reunited with her husband, [Prince Philip].”

It was reported that the monarch’s death was announced by the Royal Family on 8th September.

Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at the age of 96 at Balmoral.

Her eldest son, Charles, 73, succeeds the Queen as king with immediate effect.
