Bandits kill village head, three others in Kebbi

Bandits have killed a village head identified as Abubakar Magaji (Sabo Rafi) and three others after invading Tunga Rafin, a community in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The assailants numbering over 70 were said to have invaded the remote village on Wednesday night, November 3, 2022, killing the village head and one other person.

The bandits also killed two other persons they encountered on the way as they fled the community.

According to Daily Trust, a member of the community, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the bandits also abducted the wife and child of the village head after slaughtering him.

“They fled the community when they realised our men were gathering to counter their attack,” he said.

He said it was the first time bandits attacked the village even though other neighbouring communities had suffered attacks many times in recent past.

“We didn’t know they will be attacking our community soon. Though they had attacked some communities in this area many times. Our men came out in large number to repel the attack on the community but they killed our village head and three others and ran away,” the source said.
