Iran have defeated Wales in their Group B clash at the World Cup on Friday.

The middle east nation struck twice in the dying moments of added time to earn a stunning 2-0 win over 10-man Wales.

Rouzbeh Cheshmi and Ramin Rezaeian scored to give Iran a famous win, which moved them into second place in the group behind England, who face the USA later in the day.

Iran shook off the disappointment of the humiliation in the hands of England in their first match. They were beaten 6-2 by the three lions on Monday.

The defeat now puts the Welsh team in a precarious position and on the cusp of early exit from the world cup as they will now have to beat a rejuvenated English side in their last match and hope for a favorable result elsewhere to book a place in the knockout stage.
