Kano: APC Members Ask Leaders To Punish Buhari’s Aide, Bashir For Attending World Cup In Qatar

Bashir Ahmad

Some Kano All Progressives Congress (APC) members have asked the state’s party leaders to take action against President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmad, for ‘disregarding’ the party’s progress.

Members accused Bashir of ignoring his party duties and travelling to Qatar to attend the World Cup final.

Alhaji Samani Inuwa of Gaya Local Government, one of the disgruntled leaders, told reporters that Bashir’s actions were a source of concern for the party.

He said;

we cannot comprehend how Bashir Ahmad chooses to be in Qatar when in Kano we were in Gaya Local Government to launch the party gubernatorial and other positions campaigns

If every member of the Party would act the way Bashir acted, we don’t think APC would make it to the elective offices, therefore a punishment should quickly be meted on him to serve as a deterrent to others.

The party leaders also congratulated Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on ensuring a peaceful start to the gubernatorial campaigns in Gaya, insisting that the APC would win Kano despite the odds of Bashir Ahmad.

Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on Online Media, tweeted a photo of himself watching the World Cup in a stadium in Qatar.

The tweet drew harsh criticism from party members, who called his actions “unfortunate.”
