Protests rock UNN over proposed tuition fee hike

Students of University of Nigeria, Nsukka this morning took to the streets in protest for proposed tuition fee hike.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the management of the institution has proposed fee hike from N40,000 to N95,000 and N83,000 to N120,650 respectively per session.

The students gathered in Freedom square of the institution, chanting solidarity songs like ” we are not going to pay anything. We no dey pay shi shi. Enough is enough!

The proposed congress that was supposed to hold at 11am today has been shifted.

In its place, the Peaceful Demonstration started at 8am today at Freedom Square.

However, all efforts by our reporter to get the reaction of the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Chief Okwun Umeaku proved abortive as he couldn’t pick his calls.

Also the Students Union Government, SUG president, Mr. Abuchi Michael could not pick his calls by our reporter at the time of filing this report.
