VIDEOS: NDLEA uncovers illicit drugs hidden in baby food, speakers

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) agents have found illegal drugs at the Lagos airport concealed in powdered milk, baby food, and sound systems.

Agents from the airport’s SAHCO export shed detained cans of powdered milk, baby food, and beverages on Monday, December 5th, that were being used to smuggle 3.4 kilogrammes of cannabis to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

A freight agent named Ewelike Chibuike Cyril, who had presented the shipment for export, was detained as a result of the interception.

In the same vein, on Thursday 8th December, the operatives uncovered parcels of cannabis weighing 6.30kgs concealed in sound systems (speakers).

The consignment was going to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea through the SAHCO export shed of the airport.

The operatives arrested a freight agent, Joseph Obiji involved and later the following day, Friday 9th Dec nabbed another agent, Mbanu Ifeanyi Andrew in a follow-up operation at ASPAMDA market, Trade Fair Complex, Ojo area of Lagos.
