Less than two days to the new year celebration, residents of Agbada Nenwe community in Aninri local government of Enugu state are on the run for their life as Fulani herdsmen have reportedly invaded the community, leaving dozens dead and many seriously injured.

WITHIN NIGERIA source, Kingsley John Chibuzor reported “that our land is under siege. Many people are on tears. Fulani herdsmen invaded Agbada in Nenwe, Aninri LGA Of Enugu State early hours of today 30th December 2022 and killed many people. Many villagers already deserted their community while others ran into the bushes for safety.”

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that this is second the Fulani herdsmen are allegedly invading Enugu communities on less than two weeks.

On December 18, 2022 a yet-to-be-ascertained number of people were reportedly killed in the troubled Ebor, Eha-Amufu community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of the state.

However, in the recent attack on Nenwe community, our source revealed that “the community has been asking the state government to fortify the security system in our community, but the government has turned dead ear to our request.”

Nevertheless, when our reporter contacted the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Daniel Ndukwe for confirmation, his phone was not going through.
