Tension in Delta as tank farm explodes, injures one

After a tank farm reportedly exploded in Koko, the administrative center of the Warri North Local Government Area, there is severe tension in Delta State.

Indigenes and residents of the town scampered for safety calling for rescue.

The explosion caused serious injuries to one person.

As of the time of this report, information regarding the explosion’s cause is still hazy.

Firefighters sprang into action right away to put out the raging blaze.

The tank that exploded allegedly belonged to Ebenco Global Link.

It was discovered that there are more than two tank farms in the area, each run by a significant gasoline retailer.

The Chief Executive Officer, Chairperson and Managing Director of the firm, Mr. Ebenezer Oluwagbemiga could not be reached for immediate confirmation on the incident.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the report saying one person sustained injuries.

He said, there was no report of any death and that the situation has been brought under control.
