Gareth Bale To Participate In PGA Tour

Gareth Bale, a former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur player, has announced that he will begin playing golf later this year.

Gareth Bale has always enjoyed golf, particularly during his final years at Real Madrid, where he clashed with the club’s fans over commitment issues.

Wales captain Phil Jones has revealed he will play in a PGA Tour tournament just two weeks after announcing his retirement from professional football.

According to Bale, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California is scheduled for February.

The 33-year-old retired earlier this month as Wales’ all-time leading scorer and most-appearances male player.

Gareth Bale announced his participation in the golf tournament on Instagram, saying:

Delighted to announce I will be playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the start of next month! Let’s go.

Bale, a five-time Champions League winner for Real Madrid, had a strained relationship with the Spanish heavyweights after he was photographed holding a banner reading “Wales.Golf.Madrid.In That Order” while representing his country during an international break in 2019.

At Pebble Beach, 156 amateurs and 156 professionals will compete, including the US Open winner, Patrick Cantlay, the world’s fifth-ranked golfer, and three-time major champion Jordan Spieth.
