Police arrest suspect over attack on Adamawa First Lady’s convoy

A 24-year-old man, Lot Bitrus, has been arrested by the police in connection to the attack on the convoy of the Adamawa State First Lady, Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the incident occurred on Saturday, February 4, at Muchalla, the hometown of Senator Abbo, when Mrs Fintiri was rushing to attend an event hosted by St. Paul Catholic Church in the town.

The state police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the suspect was arrested on the 5th February 2023.

Nguroje said that the suspect, a resident of Muchalla Ward was arrested in his hideout situated at a remote site of Muchalla Village, Mubi North LGA.

The PPRO said Bitrus is now in custody being investigated, adding that Commissioner of Police, SK Akande, has directed that the suspect be investigated discreetly with a view to gather both human and material evidences for prosecution.
