A farmer identified as Ternenge Igbaade, has been remanded in Makurdi Correctional Centre, Benue State for allegedly beating his pregnant wife to death.

The magistrate, Mrs Erdoo Ter, did not take the plea of Igbaade for want of jurisdiction. She ordered that Igbaade should be remanded in the Makurdi Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to April 19.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector James Ewache, told the magistrate court sitting in Makurdi, on Tuesday, that the case was reported by the father of the victim, Tyoapine Sule, of Tse-Agberagba in Konshisha LGA on February 22, 2023.

Ewache, who noted that the victim, Kpadoo, was two months pregnant, alleged that the suspect beat her which led her to bleed to death.
