Parts of Borno State’s Gamboru Market, the second market in the city, has been gutted by fire on Saturday.
The largest market in the state, Monday Market, which is also located in the city, was completely destroyed by fire exactly three weeks prior.
It was learned that the fire started around 2:30 pm in the market’s cooking oil section.
Security personnel, the majority of whom are soldiers, have been sent to the area, preventing everyone from entering by chasing away a large crowd.
An eye witness told newsmen on the phone that it broke out from timber and orange sellers sections.
