Thugs set ablaze house of Kano singer, Rarara

Suspected political thugs have set ablaze the the residence of Kano singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara.

It was gathered that the incident occurred barely an hour after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared the Kano state governorship election result.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that INEC declared Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) as the winner of the Kano governorship election.

Rara was at the centre stage of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign, singing at various rallies while the electioneering lasted.

According to Daily Trust, an eyewitness, who is also a resident of the area, Yusuf Abdullahi, said the thugs invaded the house and started destroying valuables before setting the house on fire.

However, minutes after, the police were said to have dispersed the thugs but the fire was still on while firefighters were yet to arrive at the scene.

“All you can hear is sounds of explosions from the house as the fire continues to damage belongings,” Abdullahi said.
