PDP’s Fubara wins Rivers governorship election

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Similanayi Fubara, winner of the last Saturday’s governorship election.

Fubara secured 302,614 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Pastor Tonye Cole, came second with a total number of 95,274 votes.

The Returning Officer, who announced the result in Port Harcourt on Monday night, added that the SDP governorship candidate, Senator Magnus Abe, came third with a total of 46,981 votes.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Fubara won in all 23 local government areas of the State.
