Twenty five people have lost their lives in an auto crash in Udobo village, Gamawa LGA of Bauchi state.

Children are also among the casualties of the accident that occured on Thursday.

Yusuf Abdullahi, sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi made the disclosure on Friday.

He said ten other persons sustained injuries in the crash.

He said the accident involved one Toyota Hummer bus whose driver was overspeeding.

He said the driver lost control of the vehicle after one of its tyres deflated.

“Thirty-five persons were involved in the road crash,” Abdullahi said.

“Twenty-five of them – nine adult male, 11 adult female, two male children and three female children – lost their lives on the spot.

“Ten others sustained serious injuries and they are all male adults.”

He added that the injured have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Azare in Katagum LGA of the state, while the corpses were taken to Hadeja in Jigawa for burial.

Abdullahi advised motorists to be conscious of traffic rules and regulations while plying the roads.
