BREAKING: Court Orders Service Of Petitions On Tinubu Through APC

Peter Obi

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and President-elect, was accused on Friday of deliberately avoiding petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP).

Following the report, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Abuja ordered that Tinubu be served with copies of petitions seeking to annul his election through alternate means.

A three-member court panel led by Justice Joseph Ikyegh directed that the petitions be served on Tinubu via the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ruling came after separate ex-parte applications were filed by the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the LP’s flagbearer, Peter Obi.

Tinubu was accused by the duo of avoiding service of their petitions on him on purpose.

They told the court that several attempts to serve the petitions on Tinubu were unsuccessful.

On Friday, Atiku’s legal team was led by Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), while Ikechukwu Ezechukwu moved Obi and LP’s application (SAN).

Justice Ikyegh-led panel ruled;

Having heard the applications by counsel to the petitioners including the affidavit in support, the applications are hereby granted.

The panel equally granted leave to the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, to also serve its own petition on Tinubu, via substituted means.
