Akeredolu Offers Automatic Employment To 24 Doctors In UNIMED

The first group of medical doctors to graduate from the state-owned University of Medical Sciences have been awarded automatic employment by the Ondo government.

Since the State’s inception in 1976, the doctors were the first to receive their training in any institution owned by Ondo.

At a luncheon to honor the pioneering medical students’ successful completion of their training and exams, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu made the hiring announcement.

Akeredolu said the employment of the new doctors was his administration’s’s resolve to curb the dearth of medical personnel in the State.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Health, Professor. Francis Faduyile, the Governor noted that absorption of the new doctors would boost the health sector and increase needed manpower in the health sector.

He urged the beneficiaries to see the opportunity given to them as a rare privilege.

He said his administration sustained the vision of the university against all odds and established the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, which is a necessary requirement for the training health personnel by the institution.
