Military forces neutralize 21 bandits kingpins in Zamfara

Twenty-one notorious bandit kingpins were killed by Operation Hadarin Daji troops during clearance operations they carried out in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to a military source, the bandits’ leaders who were terrorising innocent people in Mayasa, Birane, Yanbuki, Kwashabawa, and other villages near the Zurmi Local Government Area, as well as some areas of Kaura Namoda, Shinkafi Local Government Areas, and the Niger Republic, were neutralised. They included Yellow Mai Naira and nine members of Hamisu Black.

Reliable military sources confirmed the operations to newsmen, pointing out that the onslaught against the recalcitrant bandits will be sustained to ensure restoration of peace in Northwest and the country as a whole.

Continuing, the sources said the gallant troops have also neutralized another dreaded bandit kingpin, Maikwaahara and his 11 gang members at Marak’e village of Gusau Local Government Area of the State.

The operations were led by the Commander, Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji/General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General GM Mutkut, along with the commander of 1 brigade Nigerian Army, Gusau, Brig Gen S Ahmed, who is in charge of Zamfara, Kebbi and other military operatives.
