Derrick James, Anthony Joshua’s trainer, has stated that he doesn’t care how the Nigerian-born British boxer defeats American boxer Jermaine Franklin on Saturday.

On that date, Anthony Joshua‘s trainer will be in his corner as he attempts to make a strong comeback in the heavyweight division.

The two-time world heavyweight champion, who has not fought since losing back-to-back to Oleksandr Usyk, is expected to make a name for himself against Franklin on Saturday night at the O2 Arena.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Joshua left his loved ones in London and flew to the United States to train at James’ Boxing Gym in Dallas due to his recent form, which saw him record three defeats in his last five fights.

Anthony Joshua and his new trainer, Derrick James, returned to the UK on March 16 ahead of the April 1 fight after a rigorous training session away from him.

Anthony Joshua’s trainer stated ahead of the highly anticipated fight that he doesn’t care whether the Briton wins by knockout or any other method; all he cares about is seeing his client win.

He said;

I learned a lot about Anthony from his dedication and the fact he is always a student. He always wants more, wants more, and wants more. I think this Saturday it will be a night that we show everything we’ve been working on.

I think that Jermaine Franklin is a very tough fighter. For me, I don’t really care how we get it, I just care that we get it. I think that if it gets to a point where I can see it, then I’ll be like, ‘let’s go get it’.

Initially, it’s just going in there and all about winning the fight regardless of how he wins. I don’t care about that. I just care that he comes out victorious. If I see the knockout, let’s go get him. If he’s ready to be taken, let’s take him I’ll tell him.
