ADC opens alliance with other political parties to sack Uzodimma

African Democratic Party (ADC) leadership in the Southeast has stated that it is willing to forming a coalition with other political opposition groups to remove Hope Uzodimma as governor of Imo State in the November 2023 governorship election.

During the Saturday meeting of the ADC South East Expanded Zonal Working Committee, ZWC, this was revealed to press reporters in Owerri by Chilos Godsent, the ADC National Vice Chairman for the South East.

The Southeast ADC leadership has created a political action committee (PAC) to begin the process of achieving it as well as a contact and mobilization committee.

According to ADC, “First, is the Electoral Criminality that took place on Saturday 25th February 2023 in South East and Nigeria at large during the Presidential and National Assembly elections, and second is the daylight electoral robbery that took place in Imo State on Saturday 18th March 2023 during the State House of Assembly elections after which you shall ask your questions.

“We are all witnesses to the criminal subversion of the will of the Nigerian people on 25Februaryr 2023 in the name of shameless rigging and desperation to forcefully win the Presidential and National Assembly Elections by the ruling APC Government. Nigerians, International communities,s and even the blind saw and condemned in its entirety the brazen rigging of the aforementioned elections which was characterized by intimidation, electoral violence, and destruction of electoral materials at many polling units across Nigeria, among others.

“Consequent upon the above, the ADC South East Zone, called on NECnd the relevant Security Agencies to immediately identify, arrest and prosecute all the persons that directly and indirectly perpetrated rigging, election violence, etc during the 25th February 2023 Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections including their sponsors

“On Saturday 18th March 2023 many of us were witnesses to the show of shame and electoral rascality in Imo State that was coordinated and carried out by Senator Hope Uzodinma-led government. On that remarkable day in the political history of Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodinma led government used every instrumentality and structure of the government within their disposal, both at the State, LGAs, Wards, and Communities levels respectively to mastermind the brazen election violence and intimidation against the electorates of Imo State in a desperate bid to shamefully rig the elections of the Imo State House of Assembly of Saturday 18th March 2023 in the twenty-seven State Constituencies in Imo State.

“Facts available to us showed that in that election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Imo State won over ten (10) seats, but what we witnessed that faithful day was the use of Local Government Council Sole Administrators and Security Operatives to harass, intimidate and prevent the collation agents of opposition political parties from entering the Local Government Area Collation Centers in a bid to pave way for APC agents and election riggers to have the opportunity and free hand to mutilate and rewrite many election results to their favour.”

“Consequent upon the above, we are requesting the Imo State Election Tribunals to nullify all State House of Assembly election results which petitions were being brought to the tribunal because the process of their emergence as purported elected members of the House of Assembly contravened the Provisions of the Electoral Act as amended 2022.”

On the planned sack of Imo governor, Hope Uzodimma, they said: “Thus, we wish to use this medium to announce to Imolites and Nigerians at large that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) South East Zone has issued a Quit Notice to the Senator Hope Uzodinma-led All Progressive Congress (APC) Government in Imo State.

“We, therefore advise Senator Hope Unzodinma and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Imo State to start packing their personal belongs out of the Imo State Government before the 11th November 2023 as ADC South East has set up Contact and Mobilization Committee (CMC) and Political Action Committee (PAC) to commence intensive mobilization of Imo State Electorates geared towards the launching of Rainbow Alliance with other Political Parties, Organization, ns, and political blocs targeted towards sending Senator Hope Uzodinma and APC packing from the Imo State Government House through the 11th November 2023 Ballot Revolution in Imo State, they said.
