Security forces bust prostitution ring in Libya, arrest Nigerian woman

A 20-year-old Nigerian woman and four other migrants have been arrested by security forces in Libya for allegedly running a prostitution ring in Hawari area of Benghazi, Libya.

According to the Migrant Rescue Watch, the Nigerian woman was reportedly being sold by her pimp for $10 per customer.

The arrested suspects have been handed over to the Public Prosecution’s office for legal action.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that eight Nigerian women were arrested in October 2022 for alleged involvement in prostitution after police raided a house in Kufra district, Libya.

Security forces also arrested nine Nigerian nationals in September 2022 after raiding a brothel allegedly run by a gang of African migrants in a private apartment in Benghazi, Libya.
