The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Shehu Nasiru, winner of the Denge-Shuni/Bodinga/Tureta Federal Constituency supplementary election in Sokoto State.
The returning officer, Professor Chika Muhammad of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, who declared the result said Nasiru scored a total number of 40,994 votes.
Nasiru defeated the incumbent, Honourable Shehu Balarabe Kakale of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who garnered a total number of 35,687 votes after the supplementary elections.
Kakale was elected as a member of the Federal House of Representatives in 2019 under the platform of the PDP.
