Nigerian nationals, other African migrants arrested in Libya for allegedly using house for prostitution

Nineteen African migrants including Nigerian nationals have been arrested by the police for allegedly using a house for prostitution in Benghazi, Libya.

According to Migrant Rescue Watch, the undocumented migrants comprising seven men and eight women were arrested when police raided an apartment located in a three-storey building on Mahdawi Street on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

“Police in Benghazi raided a house rented by Nigerian migrants and used for prostitution. During the operation 19 undocumented migrants (male 7 & female 12) of different nationalities were arrested. All transferred to the Benghazi Security Directorate for legal action.” the report reads.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that eight Nigerian nationals were arrested over a week ago by the police in Benghazi, Libya over alleged prostitution.
