Enugu: 300-level UNN student drowns inside Adada Waterfall

It was another day of mourning, grief and  sadness as a 300-level student of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN has drowned inside Adada waterfall while on picnic with class mates and colleagues.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that Ezeoma Chidozie Alison, popularly known as Maazi, who passed away on May 28, 2023

According to a source, the deceased was allegedly drowned in a river known as the Adada River in Igbo-Etiti local government area of Enugu state when he went on a picnic organized by his department.

Our source Zion Ebuka explained that “It was gathered that Chidozie  went to Adada Waterfall at Igbo-Etiti LGA with some of his classmates. After having fun in the water, his colleagues (classmates and friends he had gone there together with) departed the Adada Waterfall and went back to Nsukka where the buse(s) that took them there would stop and everybody went to their various homes.”

Ebuka further narrated that “it was later that his classmates/colleagues discovered that they didn’t come back with one of their members. Calls were made and searches were made. Sadly he was found inside the water drowned.”

Though as at press time, the cause of his death was yet not known, our reporter gathered that Adada river has gained much notoriety for drowning young and promising ladies and men in recent years.

WITHIN NIGERIA investigation shows that the deceased was a bona fide 300-level student of the biological science faculty, the biochemistry department at UNN, and also the faculty provost. He is also the Director of Games at the Alvan Ikoku Boys Hostel in UNN. He is also the first son of his parent.

His body has been deposited at undisclosed mortuary in Nsukka.

However, the Public Relations Officer, PRO UNN, Chief Okwun Umeaku could not be reached to comment on the matter.
