Speakership: Why Tinubu should support Jaji – Group

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Sani Jaji, a lawmaker from Zamfara State, has been nominated by the Better Nigeria Movement to be the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives during the upcoming inauguration of the National Assembly.

The group described Jaji as one of the most qualified candidates.

The group claimed that the lawmaker was one of Tinubu’s earliest supporters in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday. As a result, they supported him.

The group said, “We are of the opinion that the party [the All Progressives Congress] should go for Jaji, who comes from the same state as Yari; it’s not in the nation’s interest to have another Muslim as a Senate President when we already had a Muslim-Muslim as President and Vice-president respectively, we shouldn’t push our luck beyond the limit

“With the way things are going, Jaji is the best bet. President Tinubu should change his mind. Jaji is a ranking and ardent supporter of President Tinubu and his predecessor, Buhari, He served as the contact and mobilisation director of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Council for the North-West.”
