Tinubu Meets Exxon Mobil Executives At Aso Rock

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Exxon Mobil executives on Thursday, just days after announcing the end of fuel subsidies.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the President met with oil executives in the Presidential Villa’s Council Chambers in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The delegation includes Liam Mallon, President of ExxonMobil Upstream; Richard Laing, Chairman/MD of ExxonMobil Companies in Nigeria; and Adesua Dozie, General Counsel of Mobil Producing Nigeria.

President Tinubu said in a statement released via his verified Twitter handle that the meeting is a continuation of his administration’s efforts to secure the collaboration of critical players in the oil sector in order to ensure stability, transparency, and fair competition in the sector.

On Wednesday, the President met with members of the Depots and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN).

Former President of the association and Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, led the oil marketers to the meeting.

The President’s meeting with oil marketers comes amid controversy and protests over the removal of subsidies on Premium Motor Spirit, also known as gasoline.

However, following the meeting, the oil marketers pledged their support for the removal of fuel subsidies by the federal government.
