Ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State, Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has warned those who threaten violence, assuring they will be dealt with before the November 11 poll. During a campaign event in Kabba, Kogi-West Senatorial District, the governor made this statement and called on the people to pay no heed to such threats.

Governor Bello stressed that security agencies will take decisive action to neutralize any individuals or groups contemplating violence during the election. He stated, “I want to tell you to ignore those threatening violence because they will be neutralized way before the election. They will be disappointed. I want to call on the security agencies to rise to the occasion. You have done it before, you can do it again. My people are not ready to give them a chance.”

Bello also highlighted the achievements of his administration, emphasizing that it’s a time to consolidate on these gains. He urged the people to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure continued progress.

“The achievements of my administration are visible for all to see. This is not the time for us to be complacent. We cannot afford to be in the opposition, not with the many plans President Bola Tinubu’s administration has for Kogi State,” he added.

Usman Ododo, the APC governorship candidate in the state, echoed the commitment to building on the successes of Bello’s administration, stating, “I’m prepared to serve and to open a new page of development in the state. Governor Yahaya Bello has laid a solid foundation for the state, and I’m poised to ensure sustainability and consolidation.”

The Governor’s assurance of security measures before the election seeks to promote a peaceful and stable electoral process in Kogi State.
