- The party emphasized their commitment to justice and their belief in upholding the will of the Nigerian people
The Labour Party is brimming with confidence as it eagerly anticipates the Supreme Court’s forthcoming decision regarding the presidential election case set to be announced on Thursday (Today). Kehinde Edun, the party’s national legal officer, shared this optimistic outlook with reporters on Wednesday.
Edun conveyed the party’s unwavering belief that their presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, will ultimately be declared the election’s victor. He emphasized their commitment to the pursuit of justice and the desire to uphold the will of the Nigerian people.
“We are expecting victory because that is what justice demands; that is what Nigerians want. We will not lose hope. We have presented our case before the court,” Edun asserted.
The Labour Party’s representative’s tone remained upbeat, as he expressed, “We are confident of victory for the Labour Party and Nigerians. We know that there will be jubilation everywhere in Nigeria.”
Edun’s statements follow the Supreme Court’s decision to schedule the delivery of judgment on Thursday, regarding the two appeals filed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr. Obi. These appeals challenge the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the presidential election winner.
As the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court’s forthcoming decision regarding the presidential election petition will serve as the final verdict on this contentious matter.
