Senator Dino Melaye, the gubernatorial candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming November 11th election in Kogi State, has made it clear that he stands unwavering in his commitment to defending his vote and insists on nothing less than a free, fair, and credible electoral process.

In a press conference held in Abuja on Thursday, Melaye expressed his confidence that the pendulum of the election was already swinging in favor of the PDP, highlighting the resounding rejection of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Usman Ododo, by the people of Kogi.

Melaye declared, “We demand a free and fair election where every vote from Kogites carries weight. The prevailing sentiment clearly aligns with us, as the people strongly support our cause. We urge and caution Yahaya Bello and the APC to acknowledge the reality of their rejection and their impending defeat on November 11.”

Flanked by other members of his campaign team, Melaye went on to express concerns regarding potential violence orchestrated by employing thugs in the Kogi State election. He revealed intelligence indicating the existence of counterfeit police uniforms (camouflage) that have already been introduced into Kogi State. These uniforms are allegedly intended for distribution among thugs to pose as law enforcement officers and sow chaos among innocent Kogites on the day of the election.

Melaye’s resolute stance underscores the importance of upholding the principles of fairness and transparency in the electoral process, ensuring that the voices of Kogi State residents are genuinely heard and counted.
