JUST-IN: Benue NASS Members Allege Gov Alia Of Displaying Dictatorial Tendencies

...stating that Governor Alia had joined forces with the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to destroy the APC in Benue State

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly caucus accused Governor Hyacinth Alia of exhibiting dictatorial inclinations and bad leadership in Benue State, following the crisis resolution in Rivers State a few days earlier.

At a press conference on Thursday, December 21, caucus chairman Senator Titus Zam declared that Governor Alia had teamed up with the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in order to defeat the APC in Benue State.

The caucus charged that the governor had appointed his own favoured candidates in place of the party’s nominees, disregarded state representatives to the National Assembly, and made all of these actions in defiance of party wishes.

They said he was the state’s governor, but he was operating like a one-man operation and had no plan for the state’s future growth.

They enumerated a number of purported transgressions committed by the governor and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to interfere in Benue state’s affairs and summon the governor to order before the latter destroys the state’s political party.
