President Bola Tinubu spoke on a number of national issues during the visit, including the crisis in Rivers caused by a disagreement between the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The President’s involvement recently resolved the matter, and Tinubu praised Governor Fubara for his statesmanship during the visit.

He said: “I thank you for your statesmanship. I listened to your broadcast and your emphasis on peace. It is only with peace that effective governance can thrive, and governance has commenced in earnest under my watch.”
