Hamidu said the meeting was a response to the directive of the agency’s chairman

The Katsina state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)has cautioned hotel owners in the state against allowing the use of illegal drugs in their premises.

Hassan Sani-Abubakar, the NDLEA commander who spoke during a meeting on Wednesday said hotel rooms are reportedly turning becoming havens where drug dealers operate their illegal businesses.

He said that the NDLEA in the state is prepared to bring offenders to justice at all costs, thus such a thing will never be permitted to get out of hand.

Halilu Hamidu, deputy state commander of the NDLEA noted that hotel owners can play a vital role in curbing the menace, following the agency’s chairman’s warning to all stakeholders.

Kabir Nalule, head of the NDLEA’s prosecution and legal services, cited constitutional powers allowing the agency to access premises without a warrant if suspected drug activities occur.

Participants at the meeting praised the NDLEA’s efforts and expressed readiness to collaborate with the agency to combat the issue of drugs in society.
