BREAKING: Former Imo governor, Ihedioha dumps PDP

former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker, Chief Emeka Ihedioha

Former Governor of Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Ihedioha exit from the party is contained in a letter dated 23rd April 2024 and sent to the national chairman and Imo state chairman of the party.

Ihedioha was the governor of Imo State for seven months between May and December 2019 before a Supreme Court judgment ousted him and declared Hope Uzodinma of the APC winner of the February 2019 gubernatorial election.

The former Governor had last weekend voiced his regrets that his dreams to put Imo State in the world map was cut short by circumstances he never envisaged.

He made this statement last Sunday at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Mbutu, Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State during the one year Memorial Church Service of his late mother, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha.

Ihedioha thanked God on behalf of the Ihedioha family, said that he is ever grateful to God for what he has done for him as a person, and the entire Ihedioha family.
