According to British media reports, Liverpool has agreed with Feyenoord for Arne Slot to succeed Jurgen Klopp as manager. The Press Association mentioned that a compensation package for the 45-year-old has been agreed upon, with the deal reportedly worth up to £9.4 million (10.9 million euros).

Slot expressed confidence in landing the Anfield job, stating, “I would like to go to Liverpool. Now I’m waiting to see whether the clubs reach an agreement. I’m very confident in that.” Slot joined Feyenoord in 2021 after a successful stint at AZ Alkmaar, leading the Dutch giants to the Europa Conference League final in his first season and clinching the Eredivisie title in his second.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s outgoing manager, praised Slot’s qualities and expressed his approval if Slot were to take over. Klopp highlighted Slot’s coaching style and personality: “I like the way his team plays football…I like that he wants it…some people who know him say he’s a good guy. I like that a lot.”

Feyenoord currently sits second in the Eredivisie table, with Liverpool in third place in the Premier League. Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has praised Slot’s attacking tactics, believing they could be a good fit for the club.
