Former Sheffield United defender, George Baldock, has passed away aged 31.
He was found dead inside his swimming pool in Greece.
According to reports in Greece, Baldock’s wife couldn’t reach him after several hours, leading to concerns about his whereabouts and a frantic search that led to the discovery of his dead body in the pool.
Sheffield United confirmed his death in a statement on Wednesday.

“Sheffield United Football Club is shocked and extremely saddened to learn of the passing of former player, George Baldock.
“The defender left the club in the summer after seven years at Bramall Lane and was extremely popular with supporters, staff and team-mates who pulled on a red and white shirt alongside him.
“The sincere condolences of everyone associated with Sheffield United are extended to George’s family and friends,” Sheffield United said in a statement
