One Fatai Hamzat has allegedly taken his own life in Ogun, the police in South-West state have said.

The deceased was said to have hanged himself in in his apartment on Oremeji Street in the Ijeun Tuntun area of Abeokuta.

Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

According to her, the deceased was found hanging from a rope tied to a ceiling fan by a neighbor around 7 a.m. on Friday.

Odutola disclosed a neighbor noticed Hamzat’s motorcycle parked in the compound and, upon checking on him, found the door locked from the inside. Odutola stated that investigations are ongoing, and the body has been taken to a nearby hospital morgue for an autopsy.
