- Tinubu said governors and local council chairpersons should work with the federal government in agriculture, livestock, and tax reforms to move the country forward.
President Bola Tinubu has revealed plans for a national youth conference, scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2025, as part of the federal government’s initiatives.
Tinubu shared this information in his New Year message to Nigerians on Wednesday, highlighting the conference as evidence of his administration’s dedication to empowering young people as nation-builders.
“The Ministry of Youth will soon announce the modalities for selecting the conference’s representatives from our diverse, youthful population,” he said.
Tinubu emphasized the importance of collaboration between governors, local council chairpersons, and the federal government in key areas such as agriculture, livestock, and tax reforms to drive national progress.
“I commend the governors who have embraced our Compressed Natural Gas initiative by launching CNG-propelled public transport. I also congratulate those who have adopted electric vehicles as part of our national energy mix and transition,” he said.
“The federal government will always offer necessary assistance to the states. To all citizens, your sacrifices have not been in vain over the past 19 months. I assure you they will not be in vain even in the months ahead. Together, let us stay the course of nation-building.”
Furthermore, Tinubu announced plans to introduce a National Values Charter in the first quarter of 2025, aimed at cultivating patriotism and national loyalty among citizens.
