NYSC Member Beaten to Death by Hoodlums in Plateau

A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Safwan Fade, has died after being attacked by hoodlums at a stadium in Pankshin, Plateau State.

Fade, who was serving at the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, was reportedly assaulted by a group of attackers on 22 January.

He was initially treated at a local hospital and later transferred to Jos University Teaching Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, confirmed the incident, stating that two suspects—Samuel Dang Kat and Zatshinen Wubwerwe—have been arrested in connection with the attack.

Efforts are ongoing to track down others involved.

Adesina also revealed that 24 suspects were recently arrested for various offences as part of a wider crackdown on crime in the state. He urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice.
