Customs Withdraws 4% Import Charges

Nigeria Customs

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has rescinded its earlier directive on the 4% Free on Board (FOB) import charges. It has also urged stakeholders to recapture their declarations to proceed with goods clearance.

The NCS stated that this decision aims to ensure clarity, maintain consistency in customs operations, and prevent disruptions in the clearance process.

In a press release issued by the National Public Relations Officer on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, all affected stakeholders were advised to recapture their entries without delay using the designated customs processing platforms.

“The NCS has implemented measures to ensure a seamless process. Customs commands nationwide have been instructed to provide necessary support and clarifications to importers and agents requiring assistance during this period,” the statement read.

Stakeholders must comply promptly to avoid unnecessary delays in clearing their goods.
