Bandit kingpin surrenders to security forces in Katsina

A notorious bandit leader named Abu Radde has given himself up to security personnel in Katsina state.

As part of an alleged peace agreement brokered by security forces and community leaders, the bandit freed ten individuals who had been kidnapped.

Based on intelligence reports, Zagazola Makama, a security-focused publication covering the Lake Chad area, revealed that Radde surrendered with his loyal fighters.

On Saturday, Zagazola reported that the criminals approached authorities, expressing their desire for dialogue and reconciliation using non-violent approaches.

The report stated that a meeting took place at Kwari Village Primary School in Jibia LGA, where officials negotiated with the group, leading to their disarmament.

During the negotiations, the criminals handed over two AK-47 rifles to military personnel as proof of their willingness to embrace peace.

According to the publication, the ten freed captives were immediately transported to a general hospital for necessary medical assessments.

The surrendered bandits also promised to release more hostages and assured they would cease violent activities within the affected local government area.
