- Three motorised boreholes were approved for Ba-jiza and Rausa Kade to provide clean drinking.
Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has reiterated his government’s dedication to improving security in Ba-jiza and Rausa Kade villages, Arewa Local Government Area, after a brutal bandit assault killed six individuals.
While visiting the affected communities on Saturday, Idris extended his sympathies to the bereaved families and pledged to bolster security measures to avert similar incidents in future.
“I will ensure that the security architecture of the area becomes more effective and efficient to prevent future attacks,” the governor said.
He stressed that his government remains resolute in its mission to restore stability and safeguard citizens and their belongings in Kebbi State through strategic partnerships.
“As part of our efforts to strengthen security in this area, we will work closely with the Sokoto State government and security agencies to ensure that criminals have no hiding place,” he stated.
Beyond security initiatives, the governor sanctioned the development of three motorised boreholes, two in Ba-jiza and another in Rausa Kade, to ensure access to clean drinking water.
“To further support these communities, I have approved the construction of three motorized boreholes to alleviate the water scarcity challenges faced by residents,” he announced.
Governor Idris also ordered the immediate completion of an unfinished mosque in Rausa Kade, instructing the Local Government Chairman to finalise the project within fourteen days.
The Chairman of Arewa Local Government, Hon. Sani Aliyu, praised the governor’s swift action and reassured residents that government support would continue without hesitation.
“We appreciate the prompt response of the governor and the security agencies who are working tirelessly to restore peace in our communities,” Aliyu said.
It should be noted that on Thursday, suspected bandits ambushed and killed six members of a local vigilante group in Matankari Forest, Kebbi State, after they tried recovering stolen livestock.
