- The adoption of the party is a major step in their efforts to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from power
The opposition coalition has chosen the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as its political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The adoption of the party is a major step in their efforts to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from power.
The coalition also announced some of the interim leaders and members of the party.
ormer Senate President, David Mark, has already been installed as national chairman, while the immediate past Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, will be the national secretary.
Ex-Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, was appointed as spokesperson of the party.
The coalition had tried to register a new party, All Democratic Alliance, ADA, after initial talks with ADC and Social Democratic Party, SDP, had broken down.
But after concerns began to mount that registration of ADA might be frustrated and sabotaged by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the coalition resumed talks with ADC.
The formal unveiling is scheduled to hold at 2pm on Wednesday
