The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will on Thursday, July 3, begin selling expression of interest and nomination forms for outstanding by-elections in 12 states.
This was announced in a statement on Wednesday by the national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja.
He said the PDP national working committee (NWC) had approved the timetable and schedule of activities for the by-elections.
According to Ologunagba, sale of forms will end on July 10, while submission of completed forms has been fixed for July 11.
He said all eligible and interested members should obtain and submit their forms at the PDP national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
“The NWC assures all party leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of the PDP of a transparent and credible nomination as we march to victory in the by-elections,” he said.
The independent national electoral commission (INEC) has scheduled the by-elections to hold on August 16 across the affected constituencies.
Elections will take place in Anambra South senatorial district and Onitsha North state constituency in Anambra state.
Others are Edo Central senatorial district and Ovia North East/South West federal constituency in Edo state.
Also listed are Batura/Garki federal constituency in Jigawa, and three constituencies in Kaduna: Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency, Zaria/Kawasaki, and Basawa state constituency.
INEC will also conduct elections in Shanono/Bagwai state constituency, Kano; Okura II state constituency, Kogi; and Munya state constituency, Niger.
In the South-West, elections will be held in Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North federal constituency in Ogun and Ibadan North federal constituency in Oyo.
Karim Lamido 1 state constituency in Taraba and Kaura Namoda South state constituency in Zamfara are also listed.
