After vowing to suspend Obi, LP factional chairman, Abure visits Wike in Abuja

Julius Abure, the factional chairman of the Labour Party, LP, has met with Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The meeting was held at Wike’s residence in Abuja. The details of meeting and what was discussed remain unclear as they are not made public.

But the meeting comes just days after the Abure-led faction vowed to expel Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, for identifying with the African Democratic Congress, ADC, coalition.

Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who serves as a minister in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government, has been fingered by his party members of being the ‘mastermind’ behind the crisis plaguing the opposition party.

Less than a week ago, Julius Abure, had asked the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, to stop lying to the public by claiming he is not part of the coalition party. He also asked him to leave the party.
