- Adamu Salisu admitted guilt after he forged affidavits and impersonated a Commissioner for Oaths, prompting disciplinary action.
- The JSC demoted Salisu, removed him from his registrar post, and issued a stern warning to deter similar offences.
The Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has sanctioned two judicial workers over separate cases of gross misconduct.
The spokesperson for the Kano state judiciary, Baba Jibo Ibrahim, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
He said the decision was reached during the commission’s 84th meeting held on Friday, July 18, 2025.
One of the affected officials, Adamu Salisu, a registrar at the High Court, was penalised for forging official documents.
Investigations revealed that Salisu falsified affidavits, forged a bailiff’s signature, and signed documents unlawfully as a Commissioner for Oaths.
The statement read, “Upon admitting guilt before the Commission, Salisu was demoted from Grade Level 13 to 12, removed from his position as Registrar, and issued a stern warning.”
In a separate case, Yusuf Ayuba, a clerical assistant at High Court No. 8, Miller Road, was also sanctioned.
The Judiciary Public Complaints Committee (JPCC) found Ayuba guilty of abandoning his duty post for four months without permission.
He was subsequently demoted from Grade Level 5 to 4 by the Commission.
“These measures are intended to serve as a deterrent and address growing concerns about absenteeism and ethical breaches,” Jibo said.
He reiterated the Commission’s commitment to zero tolerance for indiscipline across all levels of the judiciary.
